Trump is Insane

It’s time to say it out loud: Trump is insane and the Republican party is also insane. With Covid deaths nearing 250,000 and daily new cases routinely above 100,000 Trump is silent on the deaths/cases and instead tweeting about how Fox news’ plummeting ratings (sic) make him sad.

We cannot wait until January 20, 2021. We desperately need a 25th Amendment intervention. We need Pence to take over immediately and take leadership of the pandemic response until inauguration day with full cooperation and partnership with the Biden team. If our country was under attack from a foreign country, say China, and we had already lost 250,000 people with the prospect of an equivalent number projected to be lost in the next few months, and the president was golfing and not responding and tweeting, “There is no attack!” he would be removed in a straitjacket.

If Trump had been removed in this way before the election and Pence installed as both President and candidate for reelection, Pence probably would have won in a landslide. Thankfully we don’t have to worry about that now.

Of course, none of that is going to happen which brings me back to my original point: Trump is insane and the Republican party is also insane. (We too are being driven insane.)
